What is Subaddressing?

CAPI 2.0 was designed with the European ISDN network (Euro-ISDN) in mind. In Euro-ISDN, there is a facility called subaddressing available that allows a dialler send an extra string of characters to a remote machine that can be used to select a particular service on the remote machine.
Subaddresses are similar in concept to the EAZ values in CAPI 1.1, but they are totally independent and are not interchangeable. Subaddresses can be used for outgoing and incoming calls.
